nightstand: before & after

When Greg and I first moved in together, he brought with him a wonderful old nightstand. It was from the first furniture set his parents bought him as a child, and it's just the perfect size for a night stand.  Being that it is about 23 years old, you can imagine that it had some wear and tear...so we decided to spruce it up.

This was my first attempt at decoupage on a piece of furniture, and I'm so stoked with the way it turned out!  That is a photo of San Onofre, which is the first place I ever surfed.  I printed it on plain paper using a standard laser printed, then applied layers and layers of Modge Podge for furniture. It's even waterproof (reaching for your glass of water in the dark is not always successful).
