spring in san diego means these amazing blankets of magenta flowers appear on the hillsides and random places - i can't even tell you how happy they make me! i have no idea what kind of flower it is, but it is the most intense shade of magenta you can imagine, and they look plastic from afar. absolutely delightful. 

i made these photos on a stroll in my neighborhood with my best friend rachel when she came to visit from chi-town.
