wow

what an awesome day. i had the opportunity to photograph two awesome surf ladies after work, and i am so stoked on the images and the experience of making their pictures. Jane Schmauss is the acting director of the California Surf Museum and is full of intriguing stories and surf knowledge. i could spend hours asking her questions and picking her brain about old california, surfing, and anything else she wants to talk about- what a great story teller! i can't wait to go back and see her again.

Julie Cox is a pro longboarder, surf instructor, board & jewelry designer (Jule Collection) and budding surf historian (working alongside Jane!) and she was kind enough to invite me to her house for a portrait session. having the opportunity to talk to someone who is living a dream life of surfing and creativity was so inspiring, and the photos that resulted have me super motivated to keep going with this project. there were lots of great shots- these are a few of my favs:
